Captain Heath Johnmeyer

Captain Johnmeyer, a native of Rolla, Missouri, graduated from Oklahoma State University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering and earned an Executive Masters in Business Administration from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California in 2007.

His sea tours include various Division Officer assignments on USS SEAWOLF (SSN-21), Engineer Officer on USS WYOMING (BLUE) (SSBN-742), Executive Officer on USS ANNAPOLIS (SSN-760), and Commanding Officer on USS MISSISSIPPI (SSN-782). During his command tour MISSISSIPPI was awarded with the CSS-1 Battle ā€œEā€ in 2018 and executed a Western Pacific Deployment in 2019-2020.

His shore tours include assignment as Fleet Lieutenant at Naval Reactors (08K), Senior Evaluation Officer NPTU Charleston, Officer in Charge of MTS 635, and the Prospective Commanding Officer Instructor for Commander, Submarine Forces. He assumed command of PCU DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA (SSBN-826) in March 2024.

Captain Johnmeyer is authorized to wear the Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal (three awards), Navy Commendation Medal (five awards), the Navy Achievement Medal (five awards), and various unit awards.
